China has confiscated about 70 million counterfeit invoices during the first half of 2011, the Ministry of Public Security said on Wednesday.
According to the ministry’s statistics, China solved 1,197 cases of counterfeit invoice-related crime during the first half of this year. The ministry said that 1,412 suspects were arrested during the investigations.
Of the 70 million fake invoices, 4.65 million were confiscated in the city of Wuhan in central China’s Hubei Province. This was the single largest case in terms of volume. A large criminal network involved in the production of fake invoices was discovered in Beijing, with 86 criminal suspects arrested.
