According to the State Oceanic Administration’s website, radioactive elements in Western Pacific Ocean are 300 times than in China Sea. Environmental Protection Division of State Oceanic Administration explained that the contaminated sea is further beyond the extent than the sea Japan released, and doesn’t rule out the possibility that the nuclear pollutants would flow into the water under the jurisdiction of China.
State Oceanic Administration said they will promptly publish the monitoring results, but they will take some time to analysis the samples, so the results will be gradually published.
Some tests showed that all samples detected radionuclide, such as cesium-137, strontium-90 and cesium-134 which cannot be detected in normal sea water. The highest levels of Cesium-137and strontium-90 in samples are respectively 300 times and 10 times than in China’s sea.
The monitoring results show that Japan’s nuclear accident has been significantly impact the sea around Japan, including China’s.
