Pyongyang, Apr 6 ( Prensa Latina ) Faced with the foolishness of the United States in denying relief from intensified sanctions since late 2017 that affect North Korea”s economy and people, the country is currently invigorating its tourism development based on the self-sufficient Juche idea.
Kim Jong Un, Chairman of the State Committee of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), is currently visiting the country’s economic development priority areas.
The Korean statesman visited the hot spring area of Yangdok District, Phyong-an Province in the South, and the area of the nascent coastal tourist pole of the Wonsan-Kalma Strip in East Korea Bay, to the east of Pyoangyang.
In Yangdok, in the foothills of the historic Great Mt. Paektu, he directed the builders, the Korean People’s Army (KPA), to accelerate the construction of a sanatorium, a rest house, hotels, and infrastructure of public services, administration and housing to exploit them for the benefit of local and international tourism, and to provide resources to the nation.
He also said to take advantage of the uniqueness of the intramontane place and build a ski field there so that visitors can ski during their holidays and then bathe in thermal medicinal waters.
All the orientations given in Yangdok by North Korean leader must be fulfilled before the winter starting in late November 2019, according to the Korea Central News Agency (KNCNA).
During his visit to Wonsan-Kalma, Kim Jon Un urged the building of the entire tourist infrastructure of Wonsan-Kalma to be completed by April 15, 2020, the 108th anniversary of Kim Il Sung’s birth.
He called for the Wonsan-Kalma strip to be turned into a cultural resting place for the people and a popular maritime park of world reference.
The Chairman of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) pointed out that the main political organization of the DPRK has invested a great amount of money to build the Wonsan-Kalma coastal tourist area, so every work must be of the highest quality.
He called for extreme quality in the floating dock, the light decoration and signs of the buildings, and in the completion of each of the buildings, streets, avenues, pedestrian and bicycle lanes.
He assured that to protect the environment of that strip cars driven by batteries will circulate there.
Kim previously visited Samiyon County, in the far north of the country, near the border with Russia, and inspected a newly built potato flour factory, a plant to produce several blueberry drinks.
In Samiyon, a national economic reference zone is being built to significantly improve rural people’s lives in these mountains, according to ACNC.
In late February during the DPRK-US Summit in Hanoi, Vietnam, Kim asked US President Donald Trump for relief from sanctions for the benefit of the economy and the North Korean people.
Aseguró que para cuidar el medio ambiente de esa franja circularán allí automóviles movidos por baterías.
On the occasion, the President of the WPK argued his country had not carried out nuclear tests for more than 15 months and the UN sanctioning text that the United States encouraged against North Korea referred to such a possibility of flexibility if the DPRK stopped or cancelled its nuclear tests.
However, the U.S. President refused to comply with the request, which was considered an act of political and human senselessness and arrogance.
