Stockholm – Tourism officials from China’s Hainan province are in Sweden to lure more tourists to the island with the charm of sunshine and tropical exoticness.
“Our purpose of this trip is clear,” Wang Yangjun, deputy secretary-general of the Hainan provincial government, told an audience of about a hundred representatives of Swedish tourism industry here on Tuesday.
“On one hand, we expect to observe and learn the experience of successful developing of Swedish tourism. On the other hand, we will promote Hainan as an international tourism island and holiday paradise,” Wang said.
According to the Chinese officials, tourists from Sweden will enjoy a series of preferential policies, including visa-free and departure tax rebate.
Hainan, located on the southern tip of China, is the second largest and the only tropical island in China. Beach resorts, rainforests, hot springs, and unique local cuisine make it one of China’s most popular seaside destinations.
