A chartered plane of the National Security Agency took from Beijing, and slowly landed at Ningbo Leshe national airport, in the presence of everyone’s eyes at 3:00 pm, July 12, 2001.
Five minutes later, Xu Yunchu, Zhu Feng’s granddaughter, held Zhu’s portrait, and Li Yang, Zhu’s son-grandson held Zhu’s flag-covered casket, have stepped down from the plane. Zhu’s daughter Zhu Xiaofeng, her son Zhu Ming and other families were waiting early in the airport.
Li Yang solemnly handed the casket to Zhu Ming. Xu Yunchu gave the portrait to her mother Zhu Xiaofeng, and said with red eyes “Grandma came back.”
Zhu Feng was an outstanding unsung hero of the Communist Party of China’s hidden lines. She was born in 1905 in Zhenhai of Ningbo cit, and joined in the Communist Party of China in 1945. She had taken part in the anti-Japanese movement and operated “Xinzhi bookstore”.
After Wannan Incident, Zhu Feng had come to Hong Kong to engage in the underground work. In November 1949, Zhu was sent to Taiwan by East China Bureau in the implementation of a secret mission, and had completed several important tasks.
Unfortunately, Zhu was arrested in the spring of 1950. In face of the enemy’s torture and coercion, Zhu was still faithful and unyielding. On 10 June in the same year, Zhu was heroic sacrifice. Before execution, she shouted “Long live the Communist Party of China!”
In June 1983, Zhu Feng was confirmed a revolutionary martyr. But Zhu’s ashes had been staying in Taiwan in a long time for variety of reasons. December 2010, with the support of national authorities and cooperation of relevant department in Taiwan, Zhu Feng was finally backed to the mainland, and then parked at the Beijing cemetery.
