Media reports about the execution of Kim Jong-Un’s former lover Hyon Song-Wol for making a sex tape turned out to be nothing but sleazy western propaganda porn. Hyon Song-Wol turned up alive.
Western mainstream media “were full of it”. Sensationalized reports, claiming that the head of state of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, a.k.a. North Korea, had ordered the execution of his ex lover Hyon Song-Wol by firing squad.
The North Korean pop star’s alleged mortal sin, claimed western media, was that she secretly had made a sex tape while she was doing what human beings do at an high-end hotel.
Not so when it is the head of state of a country that is being targeted for subversion, like North Korea Syria, or any other country of “special interest” for core NATO members.
Had it been, let’s say, Prince Charles of the United Kingdom, or the Prince Jensen of Denmark, any editor from the Wall Street Journal to the The Guardian would have cowered and covered it up.
In a recent nsnbc article, nsnbc international editor-in-chief Christof Lehmann pointed out that the majority of journalists have two features. They love to dig up dirt. They have a lack of backbone and integrity.
Coining the term “Character Pigs” Lehmann wrote:
Being an intelligent and easily trainable animal, the character pig quickly figures out why exactly it is, that good old farmer “Editor” uses the electric rod to punish fellow pigs. Seeing Editor use the electric rod on a fellow character pig, after it wallowed in dirt which Editor designated as “taboo”, is enough to condition it so much that it runs away squealing, if it only suspects that Editor would raise his eyebrow.
Character pigs. You find them everywhere, in every country. Wherever you see journalists, rest assured, they have the absolute majority among their peers.
Back to the alleged execution of Hyon Song-Wol by firing squad. Nine months after her alleged execution, the North Korean pop star appeared on television together with her Moranbang Band. After “performing”, music that is, Hyon Song-Wol reportedly thanked the North Korean head of state for his leadership.
Now, any editor worth his salt would make sure to retract the “execution by firing squad” as soon as possible. Not so in western corporate or state-sponsored media.
Rather than admitting a “mistake”, which would be the next most decent thing after admitting that one has taken part in a sleazy propaganda campaign, media now try to blame the false report on Pyongyang.
To mention just one example, “The International Business Times” concludes:
On August 20, without a trial, they were marched in front of a firing squad and gunned down, as ordered directly by the South Korean leader. …However, there is growing speculation that the execution may have been staged…
Let us quote a little bit more from the above mentioned article by nsnbc international editor Christof Lehmann, who explained how propaganda is reinforced by a culture within the vast majority of media, that is incompatible with the function journalists and media ought to have. Lehmann wrote:
Thousands of suffering character pigs who run away from the mud hole, squealing, because they neither have a sufficient measure of backbone and courage, nor a sufficient measure of integrity to do what they love most of all; to wallow and to dig their nose deep down into the dirt, to dig up that illusive root.
Because Editor knows that the character pig’s instinctual drive to wallow and to put their nose into dirt, is their primary motivator, he will use them, by allowing them to jump right into the dirt anyway, just as long as they don’t dig up that root of truth. He doesn’t even have to be explicit about the rules.
Pyongyang and the people of the DPRK have one more reason to laugh about wallowing character pigs while the majority of western media consumers are being fed “Fake Report Version 0.2″. Who cares about the truth. Sex and Death, Libido and Thanatos. Sleazy western propaganda porn sells well and mainstream media “are full of it”.
