Sina’s microblog is the most popular brand for Chinese consumers this year, People.com.cn reported on Wednesday, citing a survey by Nikkei Business Publications Inc.
The company surveyed more than 1,800 Chinese consumers ages 20 to 40 to find the most popular 25 consumer brands currently in China.
Sina’s microblog, which is considered the Chinese version of Twitter, has grown to 140 million registered users since it launched just two years ago. Apple Inc’s iPhone and Chinese group-buying websites were voted the second and third popular brands.
The other brands on the list include Xiyangyang Yu Huitailang (a domestically made goat and wolf cartoon), Yunnan Baiyao Tooth Paste (a traditional medicine tooth paste) and soybean milk machines.
