Protests are erupting across the Middle East as demonstrators throw rocks and Molotov cocktails at police who retaliate with tear gas canisters being shot into the crowds. The US Embassy in Cario has become a new target. On the 11th anniversary of September 11th, a US-sponsored false flag attack occurred wherein the US Embassy in Libya was bombed. The US Ambassador, J. Christopher Stevens was suffocated to death and his dead body dragged through the streets amid a mob of fake revolutionaries supported by the CIA-funded al-Qaeda. Obama, using this manufactured Islamic extremist threat to his advantage, admonished Egypt saying “they’re not taking responsibilities, as all other countries do where we have embassies, I think that’s going to be a real big problem.” In Yemen, mobs have formed and stormed the US Embassy in Sanaa, Egypt. This latest protest is being tied to the Islamic film that sparked the violence in Libya. One has been reported killed while 13 Egyptian protesters are wounded after security guard fortified the compound and began firing on the protesters. It is estimated by mainstream media that 5,000 protesters over-ran the US embassy.

Demonstrations have occurred in the past few days at US embassies in more than 20 cities across the world to protest the scurrilous California film originally entitled “Desert Warrior” and then “The Innocence of Moslims.”…
The growing power of the religious right is one reason my guest left the Republican Party and became an Independent. “The mixture of politics and religion,” he says, “debases both, and has turned the GOP…
Barack Obama cares about Barack Obama far more than he does about either Israel or Iran. And as far as Barack Obama is concerned, delaying the coming war between Israel and Iran until after the…
While Israel—cheered on by its American boosters led by AIPAC and Mitt Romney—beats the drums ever louder for a war of aggression against Iran, President Obama in late July signed the United States-Israel Enhanced Cooperation…

The bumper sticker on the beat-up pickup truck read: “Friends don’t let friends vote Democrat.” The driver was obviously not affluent. Yet, despite all the news about mega-trillion dollar bankster bailouts, mega-million dollar bonuses for financial crooks, and unimaginable compensation packages for corporate CEOs who have moved middle class jobs out of America, something made the down-and-out pickup truck driver associate with the political party of the super-rich. As I wondered at this strange alliance of the dirt poor with the mega-rich, I remembered that in 2004 Thomas Frank wondered about how the Republicans had managed to convince the poor to vote against their best interests. Frank’s answer, or part of his answer, is that the Republicans use “social issues,” such as gay marriage and Janet Jackson’s exposed nipple to work up indignation over the threat to moral values posed by liberal Democrats.

A devastating strike would create an upsurge of patriotism in America and fully neutralize Mitt Romney’s contention that Obama is a foreign-policy wimp. It could allow Obama to sweep to victory in November. Will he…
A common thread defines Obama and Netanyahu. Their agenda threatens humanity. Both head modern-day Spartas. Israel is very much involved in Washington’s war on Syria. At issue is destroying another independent state, murdering thousands, planning more wars, and threatening the entire region and beyond. Iran is next in line. Saber rattling combines with war by other means. It includes sanctions, subversion, instability, cyberwar, targeted assassinations, other disruptive actions, and relentless scoundrel media vilification and fearmongering. On August 3, Haaretz headlined “King Bibi in trouble.” Poll numbers show a 60% disapproval rating. It’s not for institutionalized militarism and belligerence. It’s about new budget cuts hardening neoliberal harshness. Most Israelis are fed up with what harms their well-being. Their narrow definition omits likely blowback from regional wars and more planned. Conflict rages cross border in Syria. If attacked, Hezbollah can respond in kind.
