It was learned from ConocoPhillips China that the surplus oil mud from June 17 oil leak accident was found during the seabed clean-up process of C platform in Penglai 19-3 oil field around C platform.
Currently, the total amount cannot be estimated, but will result in the total crude oil and oil-base mud exceeded preciously expected 1,500 barrels.
ConocoPhillips has been informed of the relevant departments. The professional divers will continue to clean up the residual oil-base mud until all is cleared.
According to ConocoPhillips, in the past 24 hours, they have sent 99 officers to patrol the coast about 250 km, and sent 16 vehicles to patrol the coast about 1992 km, along the Bohai Bay. The relevant samples, collected by inspection team, will be sent to inspect to determine the oil is same as the oil from the Penglai 19-3 oil field B and C platform.
Penglai 19-3 oil field in Bohai Bay is a cooperative program. ConocoPhillips China as the operator, responsible for the daily management, production and operation of the oil field, while CNOOC (China National Offshore Oil Corporation) as a partner mainly support for annual plan, annual budge, major investments, major changes and urge the operator to fulfill contractual obligation and responsibility.
