The UNSC Resolution against DPRK (aka, North Korea): The US/West’s Imperialist LAW of the JUNGLE Overruled Again Against the Inalienable (or, “God-given”) and Equal Right to Self-Determination of Every Nation On Earth
The UNSC resolution against DPRK on January 22, 2013 reminds many in the world the two identical previous resolutions (UNSCR: 1718, 1874) in 2006 and 2009.
It also reminds many in the world the so-called “No-Fly Zone” Resolution the UNSC passed in March 17, 2011 which allowed the US-led NATO “BANKSTERS,” i.e., the Western colonial/imperialistic forces’ relentless bombings for almost 8 months with almost 40,000 sorties and attacks all together from air, sea and land, day and night, 24 hours a day, and 7 days a week, which of course completely destroyed ANOTHER SOVEREIGN nation, Libya.
In the name of UN organization, the US-led NATO power arbitrarily executed one of their most recent deceptive concepts such as the “R2P” (so-called “Responsibility To Protect”), or the other deceptive language, so-called, “Humanitarian Intervention.”
However, in essence, what they did AGAIN was one of the most criminal, illegal, inhumane, and indiscriminate bombings which effectively made the nation of once-affluent, advanced, beautiful, abundant, oil-rich, and SHARING-society-based-upon-their-SOCIALIST(“Jamahiriya”)-principles as a “STONE AGE” (a language used by both US and Israeli neocons such as Richard Armitage, Edward Luttwak, etc.) nation.
In the case of Libya, as well documented now, those US-led Western criminal powers, in order to deceive the whole world again, they disguised or camouflaged themselves AGAIN by wearing the UNSC hat as their typical cover for the sake of their hypocritical justification.
As in the case of Libya but starting with the case of Korea in June 1950, throughout the UN history, under the UN umbrella, the US-led “Western colonial” NATO powers illegally invaded, destroyed, massacred, raped and robbed many other mostly SAMLL but SOVEREIGN nations!
As well-known, their FIRST use of the UN hat as their most convenient cover to justify their numerous unforgivable war crimes and crimes against humanity took place during the Korean War which still continues in the form of “Semi-War-State” due to the absence of “Peace Treaty” but solely dependent upon the fragile “Armistice Agreement” which was signed in July 27, 1953.
This is the 60th Year DPRK and US are STILL technically at WAR!
This extremely abnomal semi war state however has justified the US who still wears the 60 YEAR OLD UN hat in order to justify their continued military occupation over the “southern territory” of Korean peninsula.
It’s called “South Korea” which has been literally occupied by still more than 25,000 US troops, with all sorts of most sophisticated deadly WMDs, of course, headed by a unknown number of tactical and strategic nuclear weapons, stationing at once ‘”close to 100 US military bases and installations” in that small tiny and DIVIDED land.
To make the long story short, those three UNSCRs (2 against DPRK, 1 against Libya) are, in essence, all very much IDENTICAL in the following characters:
First they are HYPOCRITICAL;
Second they are disgustingly another most stereotypical DOUBLE STANDARD cases;
Third they are even ANTI-The UN CHARTER, specifically the Preamble;
Fourth they are basically HEGEMONIC in their deliberations;
Fifth they are still regrettably not out of very much COLONIAL=IMPERIAL;
Sixth they seem most likely a result of ongoing power struggles among major global powers such as US, China and Russia;
Seventh, thus, they are undeniably BIG POWERs-centered decisions after all, thereby, severely IRRESPECTIVE of the above-mentioned “Preamble of the UN Charter” which says: “… in the Equal Rights of … and of Nations LARGE and SMALL, and …”;
Eighth, therefore, they FAILED AGAIN not only themselves but also the whole world in those indisputably unjust, unfair and double-standard deliberations;
Ninth, as they’ve LOST already many times in the past, starting in the first case of KOREA (by allowing the US wear the UN hat in their first and major imperialistic war after the WWII which Chinese then fought back together with DPRK to stop the US aggression in the 1950-53 Korean War) such as in the cases of CUBA, PANAMA, GRENADA, NICARAGUA, YUGOSLAIVA, IRAQ, AFGHANISTAN, LIBYA, Syria, and many other “SMALL” nations around the world, it seems THEY LOST AGAIN!
Therefore, it seems there are widespread and bitter senses of betrayals, disappointments, disbeliefs, particularly the sense of failures around the world in general, among many third world nations in particular which are the great majority of world’s populations, i.e., the SMALL nations.
Let’s try to be a little bit more honest and specific with a little bit more elaborate discussions on the said topic.
Those three so-called “Resolutions” by the UNSC seem very much EQUAL in their fundamental geopolitical or ongoing global power struggle backgrounds and characters in the following way:
-Again, in those UNSC resolutions, the US/WEST/NATO power’s Imperialist Law of the Jungle WON AGAIN;
-In other words, for more than five centuries, the unbelievably cunning, greedy, hypocritical, and viciously criminal Western colonial imperialist powers OVERRULED the other major world powers AGAIN;
-The “formerly colonized by the Western and Japanese colonial powers but now “PROUD, INDEPENDENT, SOVEREIGN and COMMUNIST” China, however, somewhat looks being OVERPOWERED or subservient to the western colonialist powers AGAIN;
-In other words, since more than a quarter century-long marriage with the “Western (so-called) FREE MARKET ECONOMY,” therefore in many aspects not anymore wholly “SOCIALIST” but pretty much “Capitalized” thereby “being rapidly Westernized” instead, as in the language of PRC President Hu Jintao in October, 2011, as a result, seemingly ONLY time to time BUT NOT necessarily all the time “ANTI-IMPERIALIST” China seemed to look a quasi-HEGEMONIC power;
-Like China, the former Soviet Union, the once honorable and powerful but, throughout 1990s, defeated by the US/Western capitalist powers and thereafter rapidly dismantled, dissolved, ruthlessly humbled therefore almost completely robbed by the neoliberal US/Western forces, “headed by the Chicago Boys,” (according to Naomi Klein’s “Disaster Capitalism”), namely, the once-respected former MOTHER-COMMUNISIT nation, Russia looked BEING HUMBLED or SMALL AGAIN;
-Simplistically put it, the decision by those “two big powers” who joined the US/Western colonial powers AGAIN could be considered or interpreted as they were “SUBDUED AGAIN” by the US/Western imperial forces anyway, even if they may say otherwise, such as in the language of Chinese UN Ambassador Li, the resolution is “an outcome of many rounds of consultations by all parties concerned” and ” generally balanced”;
-Also what a such disappointing statement it is when Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Wednesday that “Moscow fully agreed with the UN resolution and urged the DPRK to ‘listen to the voice of the international community’,” while Russia has not been able to do anything REAL to STOP the SUREST CRIMES endlessly committed by the US-led NATO/Western colonial powers around the world, for example right now in Syria, specifically with regard to their numerous Human Rights violations, War Crimes, Crimes against Humanity, etc.;
-Or, even if a good, positive language such as “many round of consultations by all parties” has been used, among those three BIG powers, it seems they might have “compromised” SMALL nations’ “NATIONAL SOVEREIGNITY,” such as in the case of DPRK and many other “Small” nations like Libya in 2011, for the BIG nations’ “National Interests” or something else;
-As a result, unlike a Chinese official statement of the “generally balanced” resolution, the UNSC decision seem hard to get away with again this time from being severely criticized as another severely “imbalanced, unfair and unjust” COMPROMISE by the BIG powers and for their “national interests” at the expense of SMALL nations’ “national sovereignties”;
-In the case of Libya, the UNSCR 1973 in March 2011 robbed Libya’s national sovereignty together with their national wealth and resources, and allowed Libya’s tens of thousands of precious lives had been bombed, massacred, destroyed, maimed, raped/robbed and so on, therefore horribly suffered, and do still suffer;
-As a result, like the past, the immeasurable and immense human sufferings still continue this very day not only in DPRK, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Yemen, Syria, Iran, Lebanon, but also many other SMALL nations around the world.
Then what?
The Six Party Talk?
What?
The 2005 September 19 Agreement?
What?
The peace and security talk in the region?
Alas!
It seems most likely many in the world would challengingly characterise those official statements regarding the “generally balanced” UNSC Resolution against DPRK as another EMPTY claim.
Let’s listen to the following arguments a little bit more attentively:
-Most of all, throughout the UN history, the UNSC has NEVER been able to do ANYTING REAL against those SUREST and MOST CRIMINAL, PROVOCATIVE, and HABITUAL VIOLATIONS of THE UN CHARTER by those imperialistic colonial powers such as US, Britain, France, Japan, Israel and the likes;
-The UNSC has NEVER been able to do anything real to JUSTLY DEAL WITH and STOP the ongoing crimes, committed by the above-mentioned vicious colonial powers, while they’ve been repeatedly neglecting or disregarding almost everything deemed as those “Universal Human Values” such as human rights, freedom, naton’s fundamental right to self-determination, independence, most importantly the national self-defense, survival, dignity, and so on;
-The UNSC has NEVER been able to do anything real to STOP the US’, British, French and Israelis’ ongoing War Crimes, Crimes against Humanity, Race Crimes, their ongoing illegal military colonial invasions and occupations such as in Hawaii, Guam, Puerto Rico, Chile, Columbia, Mexico, Nicaragua, South Korea, Cuba (Guantanamo), Egypt, Tunisia, Palestine, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Venezuela, Yemen, and so on, and many other African nations, for at least more than half a century since the inception of UN organization as one of the most crucial US/Western colonial powers’ official “GLOBALIST” Outposts;
-The UNSC has NEVER been able to have EVER BROUGHT numerous CRIMES committed by people/nations like late General MacArthur and many others in the Truman Administration (for their War Crimes and Crimes against Humanity in the Korean War), late Defense Secretary McNamara and many others in Nixon, Kennedy, Johnson Administrations (for their War Crimes and Crimes against Humanity in the Vietnam War), G. W. Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, etc. (for their War Crimes and Crimes against Humanity in Afghanistan and Iraq), Obama, Hillary, Susan Rice, etc. (for their continued War Crimes and Crimes against Humanity in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, now Yemen, Syria and Iran, etc.) to JUSTICE;
-However, ironically, the UNSC seems to have VERY OFTEN, if not all the time, ALLOWED the SMALL nations, particularly the nations who’ve endlessly fought for their Right to Independence, Self-Determination, Self-Defense, Survival, most importantly their Nation’s Dignity, BEING numerously SUBJECTED to the US/West-ruled UNSC regime in the name of so-called “International Community,”
-In sum, the UNSC has NEVER, NEVER been able to have EVER brought the countless number of crimes which have been repeatedly committed by the “Only Global Superpower,” namely the “21st Century Global Empire,” i.e., the United States of America to any sort of international “JUSTICE” systems WHATSOEVER!
What makes many in the world deeply troubled and disappointed is the following fact. This fact must be probably most important one I believe.
Both China and Russia do EVERYTHING possible, like What China does now in their conflicts with Japan on their territorial dispute over the Diaoyu/Senkaku Islands, in order to protect their own national territory and other fundamental, i.e., the sovereignty-related issues.
With regard to another UNSCR against DPRK China supported again in January 22, 2013, however, the following argument might be helpful for some of our Chinese readers to understand a little better why there are a wide spread and strong sense of resentments among many Koreans from all sides, particularly in the north.
Here is another very same example from the history when China became a nuclear power in mid 1960s.
Facing nonstop and numerous war threats from US and Britain on the one hand, and, as a surprise, from the most important socialist neighbor the Soviet Union on the other hand, in 1964, the CPC national leadership had to decide to build their own independent nuclear power as their “last resort” to deter a nuclear war and defend their national sovereignty, but MOST IMPORTANTLY the national SURVIVAL and DIGNITY.
As a result, China, as a socialist but “poor” and then still very much “developing” nation, had to pay such a high price, i.e., the immeasurable sufferings.
However, this historic decision made in the 60s might help many Chinese readers critically and retrospectively reflect of their own hard past with regard to what Chinese government’s repeated supports of the UNSC resolutions against their socialist neighbor DPRK who had to make the very same decision what the Chinese national leadership had to make in the 60s.
As mentioned above, facing numerous war threats including a nuclear war, the then “anti-imperialist revolutionary China” had to make a decision to develope their own independent nuclear power to defend themselves, NO MATTER WHAT THE COSTS and THE PRICES they might have had to pay then.
With that “historic decision,” however, Chinese had to fight to overcome the US/West’s relentless demonizations, international isolations, economic sanctions, military encirclements, together with threats to even “Bomb Beijing,” while their most important socialist neighbor Soviet Union joined the US/Western imperialist powers.
According to late Chairman Mao Zedung, that very fact made Chinese people and the entire CPC leadership MOST bitterly suffer with a sense of deep betrayal as the Most Difficult Chanenge than any other challenges they had then including the war threats from the West.
During that “extremely difficult” time period, even if tens of millions of Chinese people had to go with hungry stomachs to their beds every night, the national leadership, HOWEVER, went ahead with their decision to build their own INDEPENDENT nuclear capability BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY in order to DETER and DEFEND THEMSELVES from the USBritish repeated war threats which were supported by their “socialist neighbor THE SOVIETS,” too.
Anyhow China successfully built their own independent nuclear power in mid 1960s.
Once China became a nuclear power, no matter how poor and difficult they were, however, all that many illegal, unjust, and arrogant imperialistic threats and overtures from the US, the West, and the Soviet Union disappeared once for all!
“That [i.e., becoming an independent nuclear power] was the only reason,” as late President Mao noted then, why the US/West who’d repeatedly refused to open the doors to PRC since the Founding of New China in 1949, however, immediately began to normalize their bilateral relationships with China.
Like China, Russia, too, does everything possible in their ongoing struggles against the US/Western hegemonic powers on a number of socioeconomic, political and military strategic issues such as the US’ ongoing “MD” plans in the former Soviet Union-participating nations such as Poland, Hungary, etc.
However, regrettably and disappointingly, China and Russia joined the US-led Western imperialistic powers AGAIN to unfairly and unjustly condemn thereby demonize, isolate and sanction their neighbor’s JUST struggle to stand up on their own feet with regard to their nation’s Independence, Self-Determination, Self-Defense, Economic, Scientific Development, Survival and most importantly their nation’s DIGNITY.
It’s disheartening to see AGAIN China and Russia for those seemingly “globally laughable reasons” supported the US-led Western colonial powers’ hypocritical accusations, condemnations and demonization.
It seems the only “crime” DPRK might have ever committed was/is that, like China and Russia did/do, THEY’VE DONE EVERYTHING possible to protect their own nation’s dignity and survival from the almost 70 years of ongoing military threats including nuclear war, together with endless strangulations by the US-led global economic blockades, sanctions, isolations and demonization.
However, no matter what the UNSC does, it seems DPRK won’t stop what they’ve done for their own Right to Self-Determination and nation’s survival and economic prosperity by continuing their own way of national developments, i.e., DO WHATEVER THEY CAN IN ORDER TO PROTECT THEIR NATION by any means necessary.
