Tehran, Nov 27, IRNA – The Yemeni forces foiled Saudi-led coalition attack on southern parts of Al Hudaydah Port and inflicted heavy damages on them, Arab media ‘Al Mayadeen’ quoted a Yemeni military source as saying.
Speaking to Al Mayadeen on the condition of anonymity, he said in an operation held by Yemeni army and popular committees in Ad Durayhimi District Saudi military forces were killed.
Meanwhile, the Yemeni artillery unit targeted Saudi positions in western Yemen and killed and injured some of them.
The sources also said that some Saudi mercenaries were killed or injured in a conflict with Yemeni forces in Hays District.
Saudi Arabia and a number of its regional allies launched a devastating military campaign against Yemen in March 2015, with the aim of bringing the government of Mansour Hadi back to power and crushing the country’s Houthi Ansarullah Movement.
Some 16,000 Yemenis have been killed and thousands more injured since the onset of the Saudi-led aggression.
The assaults of the Saudi-led coalition forces have failed to stop the Yemenis from resisting the aggression.
Earlier the spokesman for Yemen’s Ansarullah Movement said the escalation of attacks by Saudi-led coalition on Al Hudaydah will result in weakening efforts made by Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for Yemen Martin Griffiths for establishing peace.
The continuous attacks on civilians’ houses in Al Hudaydah is the blatant violation of truce, he added.
